Miranda Taylor CMDT Certificate of Achievement

So it’s probably safe to assume that if you’ve found your way onto our website, you’re searching for your Golden nugget. So why should you pick our kennel? Well here’s a little back story of who we are and where Gold Rush Kennels came from. My name is Miranda Taylor. I have a very loving and supporting husband named Ryan, and 3 wonderfully beautiful children. Ryan and I have been together since the 9th grade and loving dogs has always been something we agreed on. Growing up my parents raised and bred English Mastiffs. I always dreamed of being a trainer but as I got older it seemed to be maybe just a childhood dream. After starting a family I needed to find a way that I could work from home. I decided to go to school and study canines. I Graduated from Conifer Canine College in 2018 as a certified Master Trainer. I’m certified in Basic/Advanced Obedience, Police K9, Protection Dogs, Service Dogs, Detection Dogs, Trailing, HRD & SAR. We studied dog psychology and behaviors along with every dog breed and their history. As I learned just how special and amazing dogs can be and how useful they can be in helping mankind I fell in love all over. After graduating I had planned on training service dogs and helping people by training these wonderful creatures to assist them with their disabilities. My husband Ryan is an avid hunter. One of the ways he was able to include me and the kids was waterfowl, upland, and migratory bird hunting. He asked me to train him a retriever. After training some awesome and very capable Labrador retrievers I finally landed on Retriever Training and love it. The only problem was Labrador retrievers were not the house pet we were looking for (hair everywhere) was just one of the hassles with a field/working level Labrador. Well I didn’t have to look far to find an incredible very capable breed that was perfect for just about any household. Active or relaxed, big family or single, and in most cases perfect service dogs for those in need. Field Goldens. They are such a versatile dog that can do just about anything short of flying! Even then you should see them soar through the air on a retrieve. Yes there is a difference from your average Golden Retriever/Show Golden. They have a shorter easier to manage coat. They are smaller in stature normally around 50 lbs as adults. They are true athletes with amazing endurance and a working spirit. They do share the sweet nature which makes them most suitable in a family setting and even some goofiness that will keep you laughing. After all my experience with many dog breeds I believe the Field Golden to be one of the best breeds around. A Golden Nugget if you will.
