Welcome to the Gold Country town of Placerville
California. Placerville is an authentic Gold Rush bedrock of history, full of stately old buildings, sepia-toned stores and shops. Gold was discovered in them thar’ hills near here in 1848.



All of our dogs are UKC registered, and either are or will be AKC FSS registered. Upcoming litters will be dual UKC/ AKC registered. We believe in OFA and Penn-HIP certifications. Males will be OFA'd for Cardiac and Patellas at 1 year, and Penn-HIP tested at the same time. As such, our current and future studs will always be certified as sound at the time of breeding. Females, whom we prefer to wait on breeding until age 2, will be OFA'd for Cardiac, Patellas, and Hips at 2 years of age.

The Rat Terrier is an American breed descended from the terriers brought over by English miners and other working class immigrants. These terriers probably included crosses between the Smooth Fox Terrier, the Manchester Terrier and the now extinct white English Terrier. These dogs were used as ratters, and gambling on their prowess in killing rats was a favorite hobby of their owners. Some of these dogs were crossed with Whippets or Italian Greyhounds (for speed) and Beagles (for hunting ability).
